Counsellor/Therapist Grief and Loss

Hi I'm Susie I live between Shrewsbury, Shropshire and Welshpool, Powys. Are you feeling bereft, unfulfilled, or even hopeless, perhaps after experiencing a loss in your life?
When we’ve pushed down or overlooked painful emotions—especially around past losses—those unprocessed feelings can resurface and affect our ability to cope or function in the present.
If you’re struggling after going through a loss of any type and you'd like some support with how to cope, then I would love to accompany you.
You've bravely chosen to seek support and I offer an up to 20 minute informal phone chat if you'd like to get a sense of what working with me would feel like, please contact me.
t: 07958 794265
I can help you with:
Bereavement
Loss of all types, including your beloved pet
Divorce/Separation
Low self esteem
Stress and anxiety
I have 11 years experience as a qualified counsellor and psychotherapist. I come to this work not only with training, but with deep personal experience of grief, heartbreak, and unexpected change.
I understand how loss—whether through death, separation, or the unraveling of life as we knew it—can shake us to our core and stir old wounds we may not have realized were still tender.
Grief touches every part of us—body, mind, and spirit. I offer a compassionate, steady presence for those navigating the layered and often overwhelming emotions of loss.
Grounded in a quiet faith, I offer a sanctuary for your story exactly as it is, without judgment or expectation, trusting that healing unfolds gently and that meaning can slowly emerge, even in the midst of sorrow.
Grief and loss are often present in counselling sessions, even when they’re not the reason someone first seeks support.
They can be underlying parts of many life experiences—shaping how you respond to change, relationships, and challenges over time.
I offer support to others who are experiencing loss of all kinds.
I can help you to make sense of what’s happened and accompany you as you discover what you’d like to do.
I can support you to be your unique self as you learn to walk the unfamiliar path you find yourself on.
I’m an accredited member of the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society and a member of the Association of Christian Counsellors.
I offer in person, video call and telephone sessions. I offer a free initial up to 20 minute informal phone chat for you to ask any questions and I look forward to hearing from you.
My qualifications and training include:
Diploma of Higher Education in Person Centred and Experiential Counselling and Psychotherapy 2014
Foundation for Infant Loss: Pregnancy and Infant Loss training 2024
Foundation for Infant Loss Rainbow Baby Specialist 2024
