Certified Grief Coach

Steve Foxen-Durnien

I'm Steve, a certified STILL Method grief coach based in Manchester. After losing several friends in quick succession, I realised how few of us know how to talk about loss, so I trained to help.

I offer a six-week online course, Life After Loss, I support bereaved adults in small groups or one-to-one. My approach is calm, structured and practical. I won't rush you or tell you how to feel. I'll simply give you a steady space to find your own way forward.

I can help you with:

  • Grief

  • Pet loss

Grief doesn't keep to a timetable, and most people who find me have been told, kindly or otherwise, that they should be doing better by now. They come months after losing a partner, a parent, a child, a friend or a much-loved pet, often feeling stuck, isolated, or quietly worried they're grieving the wrong way.

Some are carrying a loss the people around them don't fully recognise. I help you make sense of what you're feeling, find steadier ground on the harder days, and keep a meaningful connection with the one you've lost while you rebuild a life with room for both.

I'm a STILL Method certified Life After Loss Grief Coach, trained on a course accredited by ACCPH and IPHM. I run Life After Loss, a six-week online programme in small groups or one-to-one, plus a dedicated one-to-one programme for pet loss. Each week builds on the last, from understanding your grief to shaping what comes next.

If something has brought you here that's hard to put into words, you don't need to have it worked out before we talk. People often tell me that first conversation was the hardest step, and the one they're most glad they took. Get in touch for a relaxed, no-pressure chat about where you are and whether this feels right for you.

My qualifications include:

  • STILL Method Certified Grief Coach

  • Change Management Practitioner
