Creative Grief Artist
Hello, I’m Rachel, the founder of Create! Crafting From the Heart, an arts & crafts social enterprise based in Berkshire, dedicated to providing creative emotional support.
Having had personal experience of the devastating nature of loss, as a Creative Grief Artist & Wellbeing Advocate I offer an artistic support approach to those needing assistance.
I can help you with:
Bereavement
Loss of any kind
Anxiety, fatigue, stress relief
Restore confidence & self esteem
Pop up art sessions
1 to 1 & group workshops both online & face to face
I believe it can make a marked difference if you are able to interact with others who can truly understand your pain & being creative is a wonderful way of facilitating that in a relaxed, non-judgmental way.
I spent a sizeable part of my early life as a child carer & later in life went through an extensive period of burnout & depression as a result. During this time I found that my art & craft skills helped me create a place where I could explore my emotions effectively. This was instrumental in my recovery & helped me gain a resilience I had struggled to attain before.
It especially enabled me to navigate my way through the grieving process after the intense loss of 3 close family members in 1 year including the devastating suicide of my cousin.
I understand the way grief can have a huge impact on you in physical, emotional and psychological ways & use my personal experiences & talents to support others going through similar experiences.
I have set up Art Journalling for Wellbeing groups in the Berkshire area - a safe space for anyone grieving, coping with loss of any kind or mental health issues - to come & put their thoughts down on paper in a creative way.
Using creativity alongside other therapy practices can provide a much needed outlet on the path to recovery.
I can work with you on a 1 to 1 basis and also in a face to face & online group workshops.
My qualifications include:
Level 4 City & Guilds Certificate in Education & Training
Creative Grief Artist
Wellbeing Advocate
