I founded The Healing Place after the sudden loss of our only child closely followed by the death of my husband. To become ‘family less’ within eleven months was the catalyst for my self-development and self-analysis which made me realise that grief lived inside of me.
After eight long lonely grieving years, when I came across the Grief Recovery Method, I was intrigued by the word ‘Recovery’. It appealed to me because I wanted to recover from this permanent state of inertia and sadness that lived inside of me. It spoke to me because I had not found anything that claimed ‘recovery’. I wanted to test it out and discard it as ‘another false claim’. However, after completing the program, I felt the change in me, and I knew that I had to help others ‘recover’.
I certified because I know that there are many people who are suffering in silence, family less and without support, just as I had done for eight years.
I now hand hold and walk my clients through their heartache on a one-one-one basis, offering support and advice every step of the scary way. Their journey helps them find a new meaning and reason for living, just like my journey made me realise that I could live and make new families by helping my clients.
